NEWS RELEASE

Windsor, Ontario, Nov. 26, 2009: Enabled through a grant from the Ontario Power Authority, under the direction of Dr. Rupp Carriveau, the University of Windsor has developed an innovative Certificate Program in Energy Management. Experts from both academia and industry developed and delivered the unique short course that is aimed at working professionals. Students completing the course received an Advanced Professional Certificate in Energy Management. In order to provide guidance on the business approach to energy management, the University of Windsor enlisted the experience and expertise of 360 Energy Inc. and their President & CEO, David Arkell. 360 Energy believes in ongoing education and continuous improvement in the energy industry and as such, were more than happy to participate in such a forward-thinking course.

360 Energy assisted in the development of the program with the University of Windsor for a portion of the course entitled “Implementing a Sustainable and Effective Energy Management Program”. The session highlighted crucial steps to developing and implementing an effective energy management program, which will engage a variety of people within the company from senior management to floor level. Students actively participated in defining their current status and will now become a living case study based on their own company’s activities.

The course requires that students implement an energy management field project at their place of work. To assist with this project, the University of Windsor provides one year of support through classmates and instructors via their CLEW web-based learning system. 360 Energy will be participating in this support period and providing ongoing mentoring for students as they develop their energy management plans. The student who progresses the furthest with their energy management program over the next year based on what was learned in the course, personal experience and mentoring will be case studied by 360 Energy and the University of Windsor.
